About Us

Maker of the HSI Relax Release Triggerless Relaxation-Activated Archery Release

Who are we

Meet our team

HSI Relax Release was founded by Brian Marvin, an avid archer who understands firsthand the challenges shooters face, especially when it comes to target panic and shot execution. As Founder and CEO, Brian is passionate about creating a release that helps archers shoot with greater confidence, consistency, and enjoyment. His hands-on approach and dedication to helping fellow archers continue to drive the company forward every day.

Brian’s brothers, Kurt Marvin and Jerry Marvin, have also played an important role in the development of the release. Jerry, a skilled machinist, has provided valuable technical knowledge and practical insight throughout the design process. Kurt, an accomplished archer, has contributed extensive field testing and feedback that has been essential in refining the release’s performance and feel.

Karson is an important member of the HSI Relax Release team and serves as one of our dedicated product testers. Through regular practice and valuable feedback, he helps us refine and improve our products for archers of all skill levels. His hard work and commitment have produced impressive results, with his score increasing from 146 on January 20th to 257 on April 11th—a remarkable 76% improvement. Karson’s progress demonstrates how confidence, consistency, and the right equipment can help archers reach new levels of success.

Together, we bring real-world shooting experience, craftsmanship, and a shared passion for helping archers enjoy the sport they love.

Our Story

How did we
get here?

The Holy Spirit showed me how the head, hook and rod would be shaped in the spring of 2025.  At a 906 Community Church service in late May, He showed me how to make the other parts.  I didn’t understand at the time why the parts were shaped the way they are.  I learned that the parts make the release very adjustable.

I made the first prototype in early June.  Hadn’t shot it 50 times. When I took it to the local archery range in Gwinn, MI I shot a 299 out of 300 in the first round.  I thought to myself, wow this thing is easy to learn how to shoot.  Draw the bow making a nice, tight fist.  Anchor, aim, then let the muscles in the release forearm relax. The hand naturally opens. The release is connected to a wrist strap or rope. Once the release is adjusted to the shooter’s hand there is very little movement to fire the shot. When the hand opens it pulls on a rod. When the rod pulls back it releases the hook firing the shot.

Thank you to Innovate Marquette Smartzone for helping with refinements. They are currently printing a carbon fiber version. It has a keyway system that keeps the rod from turning. The machined plastic and metal versions have a flat spot cut into the rod and a grub screw in the head to keep the rod from turning.

  • “Thanks to all who have offered feedback. The HSI Relax Release continues to get better and better. My goals are to glorify God, be a financial blessing to those in need, and enjoy shooting a bow. My hope is for archery shooters to spend more time with friends and family enjoying the sport of archery.”

What they say
about us

Most feedback we’ve received so far relates to how different the release is to present shooting releases.  The expressions on peoples’ faces when the release lets go are priceless.  A true surprise release.
